Globally Networked Customs (GNC)

Globally Networked Customs (GNC) is an initiative of the World Customs Organisation that allows customs authorities to exchange information in a standardised way. Learn more about the WCO’s work directly on the WCO official website.

The aim of GNC is to support the information exchange between WCO members and increase the efficiency of international trade. For UK businesses, HMRC oversees how customs data is managed and exchanged at a national level.

The future state of GNC is based on these three axes:

  • The data being exchanged

  • IT application

  • Stakeholders
