Standard Individual Export License (SIEL)
A Standard Individual Export License (SIEL) is issued by the Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), which allows the exportation of specific controlled goods to a designated location. A SIEL is a type of export licence required before shipping restricted items internationally.
SIELs are tailored to specific goods, exporters, destinations, and customers. Also, they cover multiple export declarations over a predetermined period of time (usually two years). Businesses must ensure full trade compliance when applying for and operating under a SIEL.
Applying for SIEL:
Information required: Exporters must provide information about goods quantities, values, and destinations.
Consignee and end-user: The application must specify the first recipient (consignee) and final user (end-user).
Supporting documents: Additional documents may also be needed, such as end-user undertakings.
