Multi-Annual Strategic Plan for Electronic Customs (MASP-C)

The Multi-Annual Strategic Plan for Electronic Customs (MASP-C) is an initiative of the EU that is intended to introduce electronic customs procedures instead of paper-based. You can read the full official plan on the European Commission website.

The plan was established and launched in 2009. It provides information on the key issues regarding the evolution of the electronic system for customs declarations.

The MASP-C is built on four pillars:

  • Single Window: One portal for all customs submissions.
  • Risk Management: Focus on high-risk goods, easing low-risk flows. Businesses can use restricted goods screening to stay ahead of risk.
  • Interoperability: Seamless system communication.
  • Compliance: Ensuring trade compliance and regulation adherence.
