Importer Security Filing (ISF), also referred to as 10+2 filing, is a US customs requirement for goods that arrive through ocean cargo. It covers all the documents about goods that customs authorities need as the goods move from point to point.
It must be sent to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at least 24 hours before the shipment leaves the US.
An ISF includes the following information:
Manufacturer’s, seller’s, and buyer’s names and addresses
Country of origin
Harmonised system codes for each product
Consignee numbers
Importers of record numbers
Container stuffing location
Consolidator name and address
