Import Control System 2 (ICS2)

The Import Control System 2 (ICS2) is an electronic customs system used by the European Union (EU), Switzerland, and Norway to ensure the safety and security of goods entering the EU. You can read the official ICS2 guidance on the European Commission website. ICS2 is a key part of the Union Customs Code (UCC) digital transformation programme.

It requires senders to electronically provide item data and content information to the destination country prior to delivery, known as Electronic Advance Data (EAD). This includes details about the sender and recipient, the shipment, and the contents of the consignment. Postal operators and carriers shipping goods into the EU must comply with ICS2 requirements. iCustoms’ ICS2 solution can help businesses submit accurate ICS2 declarations in under 90 seconds.
